Taralee Rios

Controller
Taralee Rios manages all aspects of the company’s financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, cost tracking, financial reporting and compliance. Her role is to ensure the financial integrity of all projects by working directly with ownership and alongside project team members to coordinate budgets, timelines and deliverables. Before transitioning into the construction industry, Taralee spent several years in project management, where she developed valuable experience in coordinating workflows and managing personnel. Prior to her work in construction, Taralee spent 10 years working with leading-edge financial institutions, gaining a strong foundation in banking, risk management, and client services. She is proficient in the SAGE accounting system, which is utilized by ES Builders Group.

David Lax

Senior Project Manager
David brings 40 years of construction experience to ES Builders Group. Having founded and managed several successful contracting companies, he is versed in every aspect of the industry. His knowledge of building, logistics and cost control is an invaluable asset to the company. David is involved in all projects from initial budgets to completion. Some notable clients include AXA Financial, Prudential Insurance, Knotel Inc. and New York University among many others. He has also taken extensive construction related courses at the Mechanic’s Institute and NYU.

Justin Bracken

Project Manager
As Project Manager, Justin oversees both field and office responsibilities. From scheduling and bidding to coordinating trades, managing scopes of work, to leading walkthroughs and attending ownership meetings, he plays a central role in ensuring a project moves forward efficiently and effectively. With a background that began as a hands-on laborer, he has worn many hats throughout his career to include Operations Manager, Super and Project Manager, each contributing to his sharp attention to detail and strong organizational skills and ability to lead with confidence and clarity. 

Colin Perla

Assistant Project Manager / Estimator
Colin Perla has played a key role in both on-site operations and preconstruction services. As an Assistant Project Manager and Estimator, he assists in project coordination, particularly managing subcontractors and supporting day-to-day activities on site. Colin brings a strong foundation of hands-on field experience, having worked as a laborer for several years before earning his Construction Estimating certificate from San Diego State University. He also holds a Bachelor of Science from Rutgers University.

Janya Negron

Assistant Project Manager
Janya helps keep projects running smoothly by managing documents, reviewing requisitions, issuing change orders and purchase orders. With an interest in accounting, Janya stepped into this position eager to learn and has quickly built a solid foundation in construction accounting and project management. Janya works directly with Taralee in Accounting, and is proficient in the SAGE accounting system.

Steven Murphy

Superintendent
Steven Murphy has served as Construction Superintendent for ES Builders Group for over 5 years. His main responsibility is overseeing and coordinating construction teams, ensuring that his project runs smoothly and safely. With his strong background in managing construction sites, he oversees the day-to-day operations on site, maintaining the highest standard of safety and quality, and ensuring that work is being performed efficiently. Steven is licensed by the NYC Department of Buildings and certified in SST and SSM.

Juan Diaz

Superintendent
Juan Diaz has served as Superintendent at ES Builders Group since 2019, bringing over 15 years of construction industry experience to the role. Starting his career as a laborer and steadily advancing through the ranks, he now oversees all on-site construction activities for his projects, managing subcontractors, enforcing safety protocols, and ensuring projects stay on schedule and meet the highest standards of quality. Licensed by the NYC Department of Buildings and certified in SST and SSM, Juan is committed to maintaining safe, efficient, and productive job sites.

Mauricio Cruz

Assistant Superintendent
Mauricio Cruz has been an integral part of daily field operations as an Assistant Superintendent. His responsibilities include maintaining a clean and organized job site, performing a wide range of general labor tasks, and assisting with scheduling trash container pick ups as well as various subcontractors as needed.
